Amicalola Gate, April 5 The park entrance to Amicalola. I had spent a few days at Scott's place, and then caught up with my friend Rani in downtown Atlanta. She had driven us up I-75 and Rt 61 early in the crisp spring morning. Along the way, we were humbled by the tornado paths that had cut across pastures and the highway south of Fairmount. A violent collection of thunderstorms and twisters had ravaged Alabama and Georgia nine days prior (Palm Sunday). Sadly, at least one of these was a very lethal storm. This morning was mostly sunny, cool and a delightful morning drive, 'though a good bit further from downtown Atlanta than we expected. |
