Shriners Clowns on parade
No one out-does the Shriners when it comes to clowning around in the Hiker Parade. They were outgunned, 'though -- as many of the thru-hikers came armed with super soaker squirt guns. Running pitched battles between hikers lasted well into the night along the Creeper Trail, the old closed mill, and tent city. It's supposed to be a big party, isn't it? So why am I not enjoying it all that much? I feel a bit embarrassed by my hiker friends, and sorry for the townies.
