Indiana Jean waters up at Blackburn

Along with the hiker barn (hostel), the Blackburn Center had this caretaker house/kitchen/living quarters. Owned by the P.A.T.C. and used as an educational retreat facility, Blackburn was a relatively easy drive up from the D.C. metro area and a terrific escape for city-bound trail folk to get out and give some love to the Trail. They took exceptional care of their entire stretch, and it showed.

Toonman and I breakfasted, watered up and with morning necessities done, we walked around back, up the hill with the blue blazes and found the white blazes. Take a right and hike north.
