Pine Grove Furnace
With daybreak, I got some chores done. Postcards, a call in to order a book on the A.T. from National Geo, 'Mountain Adventure', shipped to mom and dad. Give them a little bit of a taste of what this was. I had left the Shaffer book with Rich and J to read -- he said he'd mail it to M&D when they've finished. I'd like to have my family and friends garner some inkling of what I'm doing.
Just up the road from the Hostel is the Pine Grove Furnace, a colonial ironworks furnace, or maybe a lime kiln as I walk toward Limekiln Road. I'm not quite sure.
