Clarks Ferry Shelter. Arrived by dinner. 4.8 miles. 1120 miles accumulated thus far. The last five were enough. I've escaped a trail town and I need to regroup. The spring isn't far off. Slacker and his Dad are up here. Slacker (Matt) is a student at Colby College in Maine.
Next morning, I'm one of the last ones out for the day. Slacker and his dad are going to take it easy for the knees. My brain has forgiven me, but the heat has tempered my appetite somewhat. Thirst is a different story. Feels like another hot one on tap. Thru-hiker heat advisory. Really need to do some night hiking, but there's some rocks up here.
