Blood Mtn Shelter M=12.2; C=28.3; E=4461 J:Awesome day, cobalt skies, awesome sunset. Night sky stretches on forever. Wish I knew more about the stars. The story is that a bear lived in the last (rear) room here in the shelter. Now, all we have is a skunk or two. Trees aren't out yet, but the mayapple and violets are. Won't be long. Cold night. Cloud cover moved in overnight - damp and cold. The next morning, 3.5 miles of trail dropped us down 1300 feet to Neels Gap. My first shower in five days was indescribably wonderful. |
