Sages Ravine M=11.1; C=1480.3 Fantastic campsite, great hike all day long. Sages was a camp site with a caretaker. The tent spots were all spaced apart under the trees with small paths that ran around the different sites, and to the water source, the privy, and the Trail. In late Autumn as young kids, we'd rake the leaves of our yards with little clear paths in the lawn, setting up make-believe towns. The clear paths would be our roads -- or we would invent chase or tag games where we'd have to stay on the swept paths. The caretakers had done the same, even with small rocks as borders along the path. J: Tenting last night here was just cold enough to be uncomfortable with the poncho liner. Like burritoing up on Max Patch or DoubleSprings on my way into Damascus. I think I'll have to get my bag back soon! Would like a new one, but I already have two and that nasty orange Hilary will do for out here. I hope. Best get up and break camp, as I have 22 mi to G. Barrington. Only 88 miles to Vermont! Hanging with Tupelo - I miss my dog. |
