Big John and BadDNA at VT line

Big John and I made the Vermont line late in the day during a torrential downpour. Alright, our 12th state (GA, NC, TN, VA, WV, MD, PA, NJ, NY, CT, MA behind us now -- we were getting the vibe that we'd really be able to finish this). We hiked on another 2.8 to the Seth Warner shelter, where we caught up with our slacker friends SherBear, JettButt, D.C. and Magoo. In one corner of the shelter was a body wrapped up in a military poncho liner just like mine. It was Getoverit! The liners were great lightweight summer wraps but we had a problem -- everyone could see their breath now. Cold front punching through and we were again at elevation. it was going to be a really cold night. I bundled up in every bit of clothing I had, wrapped up in my liner, and burritoed in my tent fly against the other end of the shelter.
