Minerva Hinchey Shelter

I holed up with Feral Snowman and a section hiker at Minerva Hinchey shelter. We had options to get out of the rain earlier - Little Rock Pond shelter with a $4 fee, or the roadwalk at Vt 140, but this was reward enough. After a few birthday candles for fire starter and some dry duff under the shelter, got a fire going while the rain eased. Thought I might try to dry out my socks, liners and boots. Everything soaked. Everything.
Bugs were horrific, so we all ended up 'tenting' in the shelter - no other hikers showed up. Out to a late start.
