Mt. Liberty and Flume

J: 9/4 Arrived at the LIberty Springs campsite, climbing out of Franconia Notch this p.m. after a huge batch of post cards and letters to folks. Weather moving in, after several beautiful days. Guess it's three days of clear, two of cloudy/nasty. Temps here at 6 pm are in the upper 30s - light breeze.
After dinner - 8:20 and it's totally dark. Gone are the days of light beyond 9 - or serious miles after dinner. Of course, gone, too are the bugs. While it was overcast at 6, skies are clear now with stars above. Weather turns on a dime - so new gloves and winter rigging remain the order of the day. The order of tonight is my new down bag. Time to take it for a field test. Yeah!
