Green Tunnel, Smokies Tired Dogs coming through the Devils Tater Patch. I used the term 'Green Tunnel' with the photo Fox took of me out of Nantahala. It's another nickname for the A.T., and as spring ever so slowly catches up with us, we are more and more enclosed in this tunnel of greenery. At altitude as here, it's mostly rhodedendron thickets, but we're noticing a bit more green down low at road crossings or between balds and ridges. |
