Big Spring Shelter, Lunch

Big Spring Shelter, Lunch

C=97.7

Fox, Espy and High-5-R take a lunch break amid another cloudy day.

High-5-R was a retired nurse with 5 grandkids and a very positive attitude on trail (hence her name). Espy was from Maine, 'hiking home'. Espy and I took turns hiking with High-5-R, pushing along at a gentle High Fiver speed. High-5-R insisted on us going ahead, and with good reason: no matter how much faster we might hike, all of us still managed to pound out the same miles for days in a row. She said she was only section-hiking, but I'm pretty sure she could make Maine before me. This was the day we broke 100 miles total!
