road crossing
I have to admit, I'm not sure where this is. This is either the road crossing to Roan Mountain / Elk Park TN 19E, or it was back near Erwin. Honestly, so many of them start to look the same. I'd have to go back through my negatives, if I still have them, to be sure.
I had a date with a laundrymat in Roan Mountain and lunch, then hiked/hitched to Elk Park for the mail drop. Caught a ride with Kentucky Rebel's hubby -- trail magic. Would like to catch up with her and repay the favor with a fistful of snickers. Mail drop. Got two packages! What gives? That's not supposed to happen. At least got my poncho liner, and mailed back the sleeping bag. 4 pounds, really? Skip picked me up after a fun afternoon with the Goat Posse. Their mascot had gone missing under suspicious circumstance, and everyone was suspect.
Time with Skip was too short. Had fun packing and pizza and shopping. Lots of laughs and stories. He had some appt in Boone, so I benefitted from a business trip. Put me up in a motel -- showered and crashed.
