Watauga Lake, May 11
Pond Mountain ascent. This mountain hike up beat the snot out of us. Pieps and I thought we could pump up this hill. Ouch. Down the other side to Watauga Lake and the shelter -- hopefully before sundown.
J: Came down to the lake tired. M=16.2; C=411.2 Some folks are going on for a 40 miler. Marathon hike into D-town. I think I'll do 20 tomorrow - we'll see. Getting close to Damascus, so cool! Broke 400 miles today. Almost home. It's dark and I'm beat.
