Sunset, June 29
Evening hike up to Washington Monument. This is the first one, a huge stone structure erected in 1820 (according to the plaque). Strangely shaped like a carafe of wine. We just missed the sunset. So - off into the mariners twilight, we tented under some power lines N of the monument.
It's just a number, but we broke 1000 miles today.
