Cass, Rich and J in Philly
Rich was right on time and rescued me from Fayetteville at noon. Great to see him. He stayed about a yard away - was it something in the wind? Kidding. Wisked back to his home in Phoenixville -- I didn't realize it was a 2.5 hr drive. Pennsylvania is a big state.
Wow, how Cass has grown. Swam, ate, slept and read. J spends a lot of her time with friends, but Rich, Cass and I had a great time. Didn't have time to catch up with Jen and John -- will have to drop them a card soon.
7/4: Rich brought me back on the fourth to the Caledonia park. Took off under grey skies toward the hill and the shelter. Wandering Jew was in the first shelter. He was complaining of heat rash. The weather and the heat takes its toll in all manner of ways. The register noted SherBear and JettButt were ahead of me, along with DreamCatcher, Magoo, Memphis, Sourball and Indiana Jean. Hmmm.. It would take a championship hike into Ironmaster to catch them.
