Bear Mt. Bridge Crossing the Hudson River By the time I got back to the Trail, the zoo was closed. Walking along side of the zoo fence, I have this sadness hanging with me. I can hear some of the animals. It isn't a happy place. Had to head for the bridge on 9W. A winnabego stopped - asked if I had been hiking long. 'Since Georgia' The surprise on their faces was priceless. This just doesn't get old. So I crossed the bridge, took a left and found the Trail up the hill. Funny how uncomfortable it is to roadwalk. Even just a few short steps on to the trailhead and all is again right with the world. Here, where the woods are our home. Up Anthony's Nose and camped at the campsite - alone in the quiet splendor of the woods. |
