DNA with St. Francis, July 30 Yesterday was a quiet 3 mile hike into the Greymoor monestary. It's actually hard, to hike slow. The Friariy only opens to thruhikers during a midafternoon window, so there was no rush. I very much wanted to have the opportunity to stay at the monestary, to have the experience. Dan Moore passed by, and a casual hiker from Colorado. The Greymoor was a gracious host. I asked one of the Brothers to take my pict in their courtyard garden, an extraodinarily peaceful spot. This might be my favorite photo of the hike. Something about that sundog off of the statue for St. Francis, patron saint of animals. |
