Little Pond Went by a pond and up to the top of a climb. Got to one great ridge view, where a couple was setting up their tent. The wind was strong and steady, biting a bit, too. We took stock of the situation: descend off Little Pond in the twilight and nighthike to the next digs or tent out up here on the exposed ridge. Well, we both had tents, we both had our liners, and we had a fallen tree offering a bit of a windbreak up here. If we shared a tent and burritoed in the other tent fabric, we might not freeze to death. Hey -- ya do what you have to do. All night, that wind blew, but it wasn't too bad -- wearing every garment we carried. M=16.8 |
