Is this Trillium setting seed?
8/16: The next a.m., we needed to get off that ridge, even before breakfast. Down to the next shelter, breakfast and figuring out the next few miles. We were in an odd place where we could pound some miles, but the shelters were either too close or too far for a solid day's hike and not repeating the bone-chilling cold of last night. Doing mid-teen mileage was a touch above the average, and if we pushed hard on the next few climbs, we could make a shelter for a high-teen day tomorrow into Manchester Center, or go further to a ski center today - staging for an easy dozen tomorrow.
