Dartmouth, NH, August 27
Arrived in Hanover yesterday afternoon. Terrain was pleasant - rolling hills and a long road walk to town. Dartmouth definitely rules this place. Wow - great bookstore.
Sadly, my sleeping bag and winter gear did NOT make it here, although the food box did. I need to reconsider how I am going to sleep now. Do I buy a new bag? Do I carry on, maybe get an emergency blanket for a wrap? Really can't afford a new bag - nor justify it except that shivering all night sucks and it's something I've done more than once on this hike.
Tabard house is a very cool place. The students let us sleep and hang out in one part of the house, effectively to ourselves. So, while I await my bag and my boots, Tabard is home for a spell.
