Gale winds hit The dark clouds chased us down the ridgetop as the winds worsened. Treeline was over a mile away and the blow made even crawling difficult. Rainjackets and pack covers were balloons. The act of standing took on new dimensions as we could lean farther into the wind without falling. That is, when we weren't blown over outright. We thought we were so screwed, it became funny.
