Long descent to Gorham, NH Woke to weather clearing on my little patch of campsite heaven. No trees fell in the night. Gear wet, but shaking off the rain from everything got it manageable. Sunshine by the time I was packed and munching on a bit of breakfast. Light breeze, temps in the lower 50s, humidity chased away. Time to say goodbye to the Whites, as it is all downhill to Gorham from here. Real pleasant walk to Rt 2. Crossing a creek on the descent, met an older couple working their way up the hill. Miles later, came to a shelter where a wallet was simply sitting on the floor. Nothing else around. No one. Inside was a PA license and other wallet regulars - the photo was the guy of the couple I had passed miles earlier. |
