'DNA catches a lunch nap. After this, we descended to Stecoah Gap -- a tremendous climb on the far side.
M=16.1; C=157.1; A=3100
Big 16 mile day. The ups and downs from gap to gap took its toll. Stecoah was particularly ugly -- scrambling on all fours for parts of that climb in the mid-day heat. Wandered into Cable Gap Shelter about 18:30. Ranger Mike was in. Later - Rick Riggs, Fox, Portacan all made it. No sign of Permagrin or Skip without Atlas. Dogs aren't allowed in the Smokies, so Atlas was to relax off trail until north of the park.
