Apple Orchard Mountain
OK, so we've already seen a lot of whacky things along Trail, but we didn't expect a big radar ball atop this fat climb. The carefully mown path for the A.T., with knee-high and undoubtedly tick-heavy grass in place of a lawn suggests they really don't want folks going off the designated treadway. Usually, if it was a weather radar, they plaster it with doppler stickers and brag. Maybe it was just FAA, but lots of little US Gov - no trespassing signage.
