Boogie Board Girl

When asked what she wants to be when she grows up, of late Em has been answering as follows:
  • Professional Surfer
  • Ballet Dancer
  • Scientist
  • LocoPops Employee (local gourmet popsicle store)
  • Cat Trainer
Granted, her choices change from day to day, but we really like that along with the answer "Professional Surfer", Emily also adds in that she's going to live on the island of Hawaii in a big house and that dad and I are welcome to join her there......BINGO!!!! So, to support our daughter as she explores her various career paths, we got her a boogie board (naturally).

Em was incredibly disappointed that on the day said boogie board came home with her, the weather was ominous indeed and the skies were criss crossed with lightning bolts. Ah, the christening would have to wait. Not to be dissuaded from her craft, Em plunked her boogie board down in the tumultuous waters of the bath tub and proceeded with her first surfing lesson.

After much towel blotting, good old dad decided it was time to take his daughter "TO THE BEACH!!" Forget the weather forecasts of dire storms. That would just make for better surfing! So Paul and Em drove 2+ hours to Wilmington to dip their toes in the Atlantic and launch Em's majestic boogie board on its first real voyage.

Proud Mom and Dad are already pricing tickets to Hawaii.....
